A Weird Day For Me
I just found out my biggest and favorite former employer, Stryda (previously known as G-Loot) is shutting down. My heart goes out for the lovely people there, who made me feel like I belonged and made each day with them something to look forward to, instead of “just another day at the job”.
This is not my personal diary, so I’ll move on to why this sad occassion is relevant to my Medium posts. As the company shuts down, it’s very likely that their website will also shut down soon, basically deleting all my published articles from the web. There are 2 layers to this issue on my end:
1- I am currently unemployed and applying for writing jobs requires a portfolio of published work. I can’t refer to my work at Stryda if it doesn’t exist.
2- Contently, for some reason, decided to take my portfolio there hostage. Apparently they have decided to actively investigate and approve each portfolio on their site and until mine is approved, I can’t use their portfolio sharing website to share my portfolio.
The bottom line is, I’m currently forced to make Medium my portfolio page until I find an alternative solution. Don’t worry, I will only be publishing my best articles. So at worst, you’ll get to enjoy some cool articles. Heh.
Much love to my pals at Stryda, hope they move on to amazing jobs as they deserve to.
Here’s to better jobs with great friends.
